*Before moving out of a super fund check to see if there’s an exit fee that might cost you more if you move out or whether there are any benefits, such as insurance, that you might lose by leaving.
If you would prefer to fill out all the forms yourself, complete and sign the appropriate Application Form available with the latest Product Disclosure Statement for your category of membership.
The Application Form includes provision for you to advise the Fund of your Tax File Number (TFN). Although advising your TFN is optional you are strongly recommended to do so otherwise you may end-up paying more tax than you have to.
Once you've joined Catholic Super, either online or after completing all the documentation, we will send you a welcome letter.
Finding Your 'Lost' Super
The Australian Taxation Office (ATO) holds millions of dollars in respect of superannuation members who have had money paid into the Superannuation Holding Accounts (SHA) Special Account by an employer and/or have not redeemed a Superannuation Guarantee Voucher. The ATO also holds a register of members of superannuation funds who have become 'lost'.
Catholic Super is registered with the ATO's matching service called 'Supermatch'. This service allows CSF and the ATO to conduct database searches and identify matches using a Tax File Number (TFN), with the intention to reunite members with their 'lost' superannuation and other unclaimed monies held by the ATO.
For members who have provided their TFN and who have consented to the transfer and amalgamation of those superannuation monies into their Catholic Super Account, this will happen automatically.
If you believe that you may have some 'lost' money, please contact the ATO Superannuation Infoline on 13 10 20 or look up the lost member section in the ATO Website. As the ATO Website contains a huge amount of information, use the search facility on the Website and type in 'Super Seeker'.
